My Week at BSSA Oxford Summer School
Dolores was priviledged to take up one of the
225 delegate places at
BSSA Oxford Summer School at Keble College,
which had been offered as part of the £15,000 prize
we won in May.
It was a most memorable week, during
which we were challenged in every area of retail
to push ourselves beyond our boundaries.
It was almost a 24/7 exercise, with highs and lows,
but the experience and the pleasures that
came with it will stay with me forever.
I was part of a nine person team, who worked,
ate and socialised together for the whole week,
under the supervision of Liz, our wonderful
Group Director.
Thank you to all who gave me the opportunity
and the experience.

Make Their Mark
Businesswomen Make Their Mark and WIN
Nationwide Retail Competition
Today, two ladies from Gloucester are celebrating their victory
in a national retail competition designed to give small businesses
the ultimate break, with a start-up package worth £15,000.
Having already been crowned regional winners of the
Make Your Mark in Retail competition,
Dolores Bowskill and Elaine Bramwell have learned today that
their business, Delainey Fashion Accessories, has beaten
18 other regional winners from across the UK to the national
prize worth £15,000.
Elaine adds: "And after forming some great customer relationships
at The Mall Gloucester
during our trial fortnight, we're really excited to be coming back.
We hope all those who came to see us back in March will return now
that we know we'll be here for at least the next six months!

The beginning of the story below
March 2010
We are very proud to have been shortlisted from the
'Make you Mark in Retail' Competition
currently being run by The Mall organisation.
The competition is run throughout the 18 Malls in the uk.
As part of the shortlist judging procedure we were asked to trade
in Gloucester Eastgate Mall for two weeks from
11th March 2010 to be observed and assessed.
We had an amazing time, were fully supported by all the staff throughout the Mall, and received very favourable feedback from customers and staff.
A local winner will be announced in April, and a national winner will be announced week beginning 26th April.
We were very pleased to have been given a half page feature in the
Gloucester Citizen on

We recieved news on 14th April that we had become the
local winners of
Make Your Mark in Retail Competition!!!
We now go through to the National Final.
We are absolutely delighted that we have reached this stage of the competition, and wish all the National Finalists
the best of luck.
We will hear the results after 26th April

Camilla Duchess of Cornwall visited Bath Hospital
on the day we were trading, and came to meet us and view our handbags.
She took tea with patients in the coffee shop and visited various departments within the hospital
